The one that caught my eye first was the flower one on the left because it was in the clearance section and I always shop there first.
(Aside: I saw it on Pinterest today and followed it to the retailer's site. I was floored to see the pillow cover alone was $49! Pillow+filling was $79! I was so excited that I wanted to tell someone. Alas, I was at work and that would not have been a smart move. *Happy sigh.)
Then I saw the leaf one on the right and I just loved it. I loved the simplicity and the texture as well! The leaf was made up of what looks like individual knots. I'm not sure how they did it, but it's really nice. I'm usually a fan of making my own pillow covers but these are pillows I would not be able to make at home.
And see how the two of them seem to be the perfect couple?
And what are the chances that I would find a third pillow on the same trip to Home Goods? Maybe I should've tried something daring that day because I was definitely on a streak. Enter pillow #3.
And that's how I ended up with 3 pillows. In one day. From the same store. Which I assure you never happens. And here they are auditioning in their spaces. It took me a few tries to settle them in a configuration that I liked. At first David had the same reservations about the bold floral one, but at the end we both got comfortable with it and loved it.
But I'm really not in a hurry to fill it. I love to wait and do research, see things unexpectedly at sale sections that work and collect affordable statement pieces. That's part of the fun for me. :)
